Summer Layout

Hi everyone!  Just stopping by to post this weeks DT project for The Paper Variety :)  I used Echo Park's Splash line for this bright and colorful summer layout!

The challenge is to do tic-tac-toe so I went right down the middle :) I chose Multi-photo, Water theme, and using a banner.  There were so many choices it was tough to choose!

Stop on over to The Paper Variety and play yourself to win a $20 gift card to the Freehand Scraps Kit Club!  Here's a sample of their latest kit (yum!)

I also worked on some bright and summer-y cards using my Jump and Jive kit from Noel Mignon (getting close to done with this baby!  wahoo!).

How is everyone else's summer going?  Mine is very busy but I'm having lots of fun playing in the pool and at the beach with Mr. Charlie :)

Grid Challenge at the Paper Variety

Hello all!  Here to post another Christmas layout I made using's kit "Bedford Falls" which (shockingly!) is still available to buy!  woot woot, i already bought myself two :)

This layout conforms to the new challenge over at The Paper Variety which is to either 1. use a grid or 2. use every color of the rainbow.  i went with using the grid, it was the perfect way to showcase some of Charlie's favorite Christmas presents :)  I hope you like it!  See you back soon :)

Paper Variety Challenge Week 42: Photo Inspiration

Hello everybody!  Here today to show you my first Paper Variety Design Team project!  I thought this challenge was really fun and unique- it was a photo inspiration!  Here's the photo:

Such an adorable photo huh?  I really loved the black and white stripes plus the bright pops of color from the puzzle pieces so that's what I decided to base my layout on.  Here it is, using Crate Paper's Portrait and Toy Box lines and some Sassafrass Lass.

If you head on over to the Paper Variety and link up your own project using this photo inspiration by Tuesday to win a big fun lot of Nikki Sivils scrapbooking goodies:

Christmas In July!

Well I know you're starting to see Christmas in July sales and challenges all over the place now so why should I be an exception?  Plus the Paper Variety is having a Christmas Challenge (unlimited entries!  woo hoo!) so the timing is just perfect to share some of my winter scrapbook pages.

I can only share a few though, I've gotten the very exciting news that I will be published come December and January in Creating Keepsakes, Cricut Magazine, and Create Idea Book: Mini Albums.  I really only started aggressively submitting layouts a couple months ago (and I mean *agressively*, those poor editors had their inboxes flooded haha) so I'm thrilled to be published 3 times already!

Anyways, just wanted to share my good news- I hope everyone else has been having an excellent scrappy month too :)

Here are some of my favorite Christmas themed layouts- I hope you enjoy (almost every one is made with the Bedford Falls kit from

I think that's it for today!  Have a great night everyone :)

Layout Tag!

Hi everyone!  Just going to stop by for a quick post- the weather is far too nice to stay inside- my pool is calling my name :)  However I will have some exciting news next week so hang tight!

I took part in a layout tag challenge and thought I'd share my layout here.  It also occured to me that I never ever do tutorials anymore (just no time!) so I figured I'd do a teensy mini- tutorial.

If you're a long-time follower you'll know that I always like to make a sketch before I scrap anything.  I definitely still do this!  This is the sketch I used- based off of the layout I received for the challenge

I decided to make the single photo into 2 but other than that I stayed pretty true to the sketch, although I did move it up and to the left a wee bit.  I loved these pictures of Charlie and his friend Gracie playing and tugging on each others faces hehehe.

Before I glue anything down I like to arrange everything and take a picture.  Then I piece the layout together piece by piece using that photo as a reference (this helps when I need to sew between putting layers down and would otherwise forget what I'm doing and where I wanted things to go haha)

I didn't like how the title was floating in mid air so I decided to anchor it using an October Afternoon label sticker.  All materials from this layout are from the kit "Mary Ellen" by the way :)  So anyways, I changed the layout a wee bit and took another picture.

Next I started sewing and using my punches.  I also decided to outline my pieces of paper with black ink to give it a little POP.  This is the final product :)

Aren't those photo's just darling?  I hope you like the layout, be back for more soon!  Have a fabulous holiday weekend everybody!
