News, News, and then a bit more news!

Hi everyone!  Well the title says it all- lots of news!  First off, I wanted to make the announcement that I will be teaching a class over at Miss Arts Papercrafting School!  I just finished up all of the content and I think you will just love it :) The class should be starting mid-April or early May-- I will make sure to keep you posted.

The name of the class is "From Girly to Burly" and is all about taking traditionally feminine items (like hearts or flowers) and showing you how to incorporate them into your boy themed layouts.  This is something I do quite often having only one little boy but loving girly papers and themes like I do!  The class is broken up into 4 segments, each demonstrating a traditionally "Girly" theme, turned "Burly".  Each segment consists of a video, written instructions, and multiple layouts demonstrating the theme (as well as beautiful photography by my talented husband, Robb Cyr).  Some videos will be teaching you a new technique and some videos show a Start to Finish layout creation- so there should be a little something in there for everyone :)  Plus there are SIX never before seen layouts! I really think you're gonna love it so make sure you sign up over at Miss Arts Papercrafting School!

Now OTHER news!

The Burlap and Buttercups April kit is for sale! It's beautiful and I just started working with it today :) I love that there's Ormolu product in it- I've been wanting to test out their supplies for so long!

Now the MORE news!

Pretty Little Studio has come out with their new Monsieur collection!  It's gorgeous, I love the paper and all the adorable accessories.  My DT box is going out in the mail next week and I could NOT be more excited :)  Here's a sneak peak:

AND the best part is I am able to share these two coupons with you!!  So make sure you stock up on your favorite PLS products this weekend :)

Okay everybody- hope you enjoy your weekend and I'll see you soon with some new layouts!

Patiently Waiting

Hi everyone!  Okay I'm not 'patiently waiting' but it is the name of the layout I'm going to share :)  I'm afraid I'm not very patient EVER, and neither is Charlie so the title is a bit of a stretch but oh well! Haha I used all Pretty Little Studio products for this layout except for the title and just LOVE how it came out.  All those PLS tags and banner pennants are just too cute.  I love their bright fun colors over at Pretty Little Studio-- it's so hard to find just straight up bright patterned paper now a days...anyways, I digress!

I dug into my scraps drawers and hand cut tiny squares to make that checkerboard pattern along the top and bottom of the LO.  Tedious, but I love that kinda stuff sometimes....KWIM?

Anyways hope you all are having a great week thus far!

Pretty Little Studio Card

Hi everyone!!  I made a card and tutorial that is up on the Pretty Little Studio blog here.  My friend's little girl just turned two (crazy!) so I made her a birthday card using the Clowning Around collection! Unfortunately Charlie came down with the flu a few weeks ago and wasn't able to go to the party :( I was looking forward to seeing him playing in a bounce house!  Oh well, another time.  Anyways, here's the Birthday Card, enjoy!

B&B March Kit Idea Gallery

Good morning all!!  Today is the fabulous reveal day for the March Burlap and Buttercups Idea Gallery!  The kit this time around is super fun and colorful, so my projects are all very happy and bright :)  Hope you enjoy!

This layout is very simple but I used a lot of fun techniques to jazz it up a bit.  I sewed along the rays of the sun in a zig zag pattern and I also painted and then misted the cloud chipboard pieces.

Aptly subtitled hehe

and of course I had to make a layout about Charlies constant motion (it's impossible to get a group picture!) haha!

And I was in the mood for some fun springy cards this month, I just got a new MS butterfly punch that I just had to test out ;)  Thinking about a spring time butterfly wreath project- we shall see!

Burlap and Buttercups Challenge

Hi everyone! I'm hear today to share the Burlap and Buttercups Challenge that I'm hosting this week.  The challenge is to scrapbook something BESIDES your kids!  As you know, I scrapbook almost exclusively about Charlie (he's much cuter than me, you see, haha) so this was tough.  But I'm so glad I did it because I realized I NEVER scrap layouts of my husband and I together.  So here it is!  Make sure you head on over to play along and be entered to win a giftcard to the shop :)

Pretty Little Studio Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone!  Today I'm going to share a project I made for the sketch challenge going on over at the PLS blog :)  Make sure you head on over and play along!

I love these photos- the baby on the bottom left is me and the other baby is Charlie! Both of us are riding a rocking horse that my Grandfather made me when I was born........these two similar photos are taken 25 years apart :)  I thought that was neat!  I chose the fun bright colors of the "Clowning Around" line to go with.  Love those cute little 8x8 papers and pennants!  And how fun are those star journaling cards??

Burlap and Buttercups March Kit + Sneaks

Hi everyone! Here today to share the March Burlap and Buttercups kit!  It's so cute- full of lots of fun bright colors, perfect for spring :)  and some of the fabulous Amy Tangerine line-- I've been dying to play with some of these patterns for months now!

 The Add On Kit:

Awesome huh??  Now I can't share my projects with you until the Idea Gallery goes live on the 15th, but I thought I'd share a few sneaky peeks in the meantime ;).

I really loved this kit because all the embellishments were super easy to layer (I'm in love with those rosettes haha!)

Precocious Paper Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to the Precocious Paper Blog Hop! If you've come from Suzy's blog than you are in the right place :)  If not, make sure to head over to the start of the hop and then hop along back here on your way!

We're each going to tell you about our favorite PP product and mine are definitely the Sewing Pattern Petals-- which are so cute!  I especially like them because they're a great way to add flowers to a page without it becoming too girly (which is nice since 90% of my layouts are about my son!).

Here are some examples of these lovely flowers in action :)

Tessa is giving away a prize for one lucky blog hopper so make sure to comment on everybody's pages along the hop to be entered for a chance to win!!

Next stop is Amanda, happy hopping!
