What To Do When Charlie Turns Two?!

Oh me oh my, my kidlet is two!  Holy geeeez!  I remember 2 years ago sitting right where I am now in my living room literally having a complete breakdown involving many tears, screaming, and crying and hours and hours of pushing before rushing off to the hospital for an emergency C section.  It was just plain miserable and then one year ago (on Charlie's first birthday) was Hurricane Irene, so we were holed up inside with a massive storm going on outside.  This year we made up for it :)  Kinda :/ haha.  We went to the CT Science Museum, had lunch at the Polish National House (freakin delicious btw), played at Bushnell Park, rode the carousel at Bushnell Park, picked up at cake at Modern Pastry, watched movies at home, and just had an all around fun day!  Filled of course with a thousand 2 year old toddler temper tantrums.  Gotta love those right?  *eyeroll*

Sidenote:  Is there a generally accepted emoticon for an eyeroll?  I feel like an idiot typing it out like that.

Double Sidenote: Isn't it annoying when people type the word "Laugh"?  Ugh, I dunno why but it bothersssssss me.  I'm a fan of "haha" or "lol" or if someone is ridiculously funny I've been known to throw out an "lololzozlozlzolzozzzzzzzlololzzzzz" like a 12 yr old girl.  So I dunno, who's the lame one now?

Anywayssssss

Isn't he so darling?  Love that kid!

In honor of Charlie's big TWO I have a layout featuring his Top Ten Favorites at Two :) Made using Noel Mignon's kit Homespun. Way busier than I ever do (no negative space?!) but I enjoy it just the same....I feel like toddlers minds are all cluttered so it goes with the theme hehe.

In case you're wondering Charlie's top ten favorites are (drum roll please!)

1. Balls (we have so many.  and he loves to throw them, move them, and just carry them around in case of an emergency [for example, if someones not tripping.  and charlie wants them to be.  BOOM.  Here's a ball you didn't notice.  Now you're on the floor.])

2. Yo Gabba Gabba (well duh.  This is probably because I like it so much and always choose to put it on Netflix for him during his treatments haha.  Runner ups include Fresh Beat Band, Super Why, and Chuck the Truck.  Any other moms out there have a crush on Twist?  It's not really as inappropriate as it seems coz the dude is 28 or summin.  Sooooo, it's not creepy..... right?)

3. Chips (anything crunchy and salty! Luckily he requires a high fat diet so I don't even have to feel guilty about it hehe)

4. Trains and Cars (All boy all the way)

5. Emma (Our pug/boston terrier.  So cute, he loves to chase her around and give her hugs.  She's a great sport and puts up with it valiantly)

6. Puddles (what toddler doesn't like splashing?)

7. Dr Seuss (this might be another one mom pushed pretty hard lol)

8. Coloring (he's getting an easel for his birthday party on Sunday from his Auntie! Can't wait, he's gonna love it)

9. Water and the Beach (luckily grandparents have a beach house!)

10. Running and Shrieking (literally.  All the time.  Part of the cause of his tantrums today...running too fast, falling, bloody lips)

So there you have it!

This is getting LONG.  One last tidbit.....you may or may not have seen me here on the Crate Paper blog (http://crate.typepad.com/cratepaper/2012/08/cp-creative-weekly-pattern-paper-challenge-winner.html), yipppeeee!  Can't wait to play with the two new collections :)

Hope everyone is doing great! I will update soon with pics from the bridal shower (for real this time!) and if you're awaiting a goodie package it is on its way and should be to you shortly!

Lovely Lovely Lovely Love

Oh so many lovely layouts!  Not necessarily lovely by anything I did but because the theme is all about LOVE!  And there's a Yo Gabba Gabbe song called "lovely love" and that's all I can think of whenever I see these layouts.  Technically a Roots song from a Yo Gabba Gabba episode but whatever.  You get it right?  right?

Before I share layouts, in other news, my Mr. Charlie is turning 2!  TWO!  What the hell right?  Who said that shit could happen?  I didn't.

anyways Im super thrilled for it, I have the whole week off work AND i just bought him the most bangin' home kitchen set our pathetic little budget could afford ;)  I hope he loooooves it, cannot wait to give it to him!  His birthday for realsie is on Tuesday so Robb and I are heading to the CT Science Museum (weird his scientist momma wants to bring him there right?  In my defense they're having a dinosaur exhibition.  which will be kick you in the pants awesome).  But then we're having a beach party next Saturday too!  Woot woot!  I hope my handsome little man has a GRRRRRREAT birthday :)

Speaking of my handsome man, here are some layouts about him!  The first two feature some pics of us sticking our tongues out.  That was a wonderful day when I taught him that, such a proud momma....lolz

New Winner Chosen and Butterfly Wreath

Hi everyone!!! I never heard from my Giveaway 5 Winner so I chose a new one randomly and that NEW winner is TEACHERMOM!  Yay lady!!  Send me an email to GlueMeetsPaper@gmail.com with your address and I'll send out your package ASAP.  TO the other winning ladies: thank you for being patient, your packages will be in the mail in the next day or two as well!!

I'm still waiting on some photos from the Garden Bridal Shower last weekend (I was so busy cooking I never got a chance to take many photos!!)  but I did make a butterfly wreath that I wanted to share.  It was hung on the front door so guests could see it as they came inside :)

The wreath itself was very easy to make!  First I wrapped a styrofoam wreath base in wide green ribbon.  Then I hot glued the "Congratulations" banners to the wreath (the triangles were stamped, handcut, inked, and sewn into a banner).  I used pink scraps and 4 butterfly punches for all the butterflies.  Once they were punched I added them to the wreath using sewing pins.  Hope you like it!!

Giveaway Winners!

Hi everyone!!  Isn't it so obnoxious when someone tells you when they will be posting something or pulling a winner for something and then they don't do it on time?  MAN it grinds my gears!  SOOOOOoooooooooo, that being said.....I'm a huge ass because I didn't post the winners last night like I said I would....sorry!

Long story short-- don't attempt to dye your hair while trying to watch your two year old.  If you do, it might turn out orange.  And if it turns out orange you'll have to spend 3hrs after work the next day getting it fixed.  And then your car won't start.  And then your husband will have to pick you up.  And then you'll have to go straight to bed after watching the new episode of Breaking Bad because you need to be up at 450 am to go to work.  And then you won't have time to pick blog winners.  ;)

(yes that was the short version)

ANNNNNNYWAYS!  Onto the winners (chosen at random)!  First of all, thank you all so much for your super awesome comments :)  I'm so happy you guys liked my layouts and the mini album!  You guys are so very sweet :D

Day 1 Winner (Kraft Fun Day Prize Pack): TeenaBugg38

Day 2 Winner (Beach Prize Pack): Janet Zeppa

Day 3 Winner (Crate Paper Prize Pack): Melissa (of Moe's Creations)

Alrighty ladies- Congratulations!  Thanks so much for entering my giveaways!  Shoot me an email at GlueMeetsPaper@gmail.com with your mailing address and I will probably get your prizes in the mail in the next week or two.  Throwing a fun garden themed bridal party this weekend so I'll be a bit busy but I can't WAIT to share some of the decorations I'm making!

In other news, here are a couple projects I've made for Pretty Little Studio lately!  Hope you like 'em :)

Baby Girl Mini Album and Giveaway Reminder

Hi everyone! I'm here today to share a mini album I made for my friend who just had a little girl a few months ago.  I used the Little Bo Peep collection and a Doodlebug chipboard album to make it.

There are some pages (the ones that say "Dad Says" or "Photos", etc) that are really pockets to store stories or notes from different family members, or just places to put extra photos, etc. Since this album is for someone else besides myself I wanted to make sure they had space to add in their own personal touches.
The pockets are really super easy to make, just add a piece of cardstock or vellum to the bottom third of a page and only sew along the outermost edges, leaving the top open and voila- instant pocket!

There you have it!  I also wanted to remind everyone about my week of giveaways (if you missed my first 5 posts lol).  I'm giving away 5 prize packs this week so make sure you go back to the last 5 posts and enter my giveaways if you haven't already :)  Have a great weekend everyone!

A Week of Giveaways- Day 5!

Hi everyone! It is the last day of my week of giveaways!  Maybe I should have called it a "Business Week of Giveaways" because I meant a week as in Monday through Friday, 5 days not 7.  Oh well!  haha.  Anyways, today's layout is a photo of my friend's little girl Emily Mae.  She's a cutie and was my excuse for buying the entire Little Bo Peep collection from Crate Paper even though I don't have a baby girl haha.  I also made my friend a coordinating mini album using this collection that I will share tomorrow, but I'll throw up the cover so you can get an idea :)

Make sure to stop by tomorrow to see the entire mini album!!

Anyways, onto the last giveaway!  This one is by far the biggest and spans just about every manufacturer there is!  It's a giant box full of patterned paper and embellishments from MME, Bo Bunny, Creative Imaginations, Crate Paper and many many more!

A Week of Giveaways- Day 4!

Woo hoo! Day 4 of giveaway week!!  Today's whole post is winter themed so forget it's August for a second okay? Okay!

Here's today's layout about Charlie playing in the snow this past winter.  We only got one big snow storm last year which was perfection because I hate snow and have an hour long commute to and from work each day.  So Charlie only got to play in the snow for a little bit but that was okay coz he didn't care too much for it anyways :)  This layout is made using the "Cabin Fever" kit from NoelMignon.com

Todays giveaway is Christmas themed!  It's a big collection of Christmas patterned paper and embellishments :)  Manufacturers include Lily Bee, MME, Fancy Pants, Simple Stories, We R Memory Keepers, and Pink Paislee.  You can't really tell in the photo but there is also a little goodie bag filled with fun accessories like buttons, diecuts, trims, and more.

In order to be eligible for the giveway you need to leave me a comment under this post and be a follower of my blog.  You will have until August 5th to enter each giveaway and the winners will all be drawn on Monday, August 6th  The winners will be randomly chosen and there is no limit on how many prize packages you can win but please only enter each giveaway once ;).  In order to win you must email me once you have won, so make sure you check back-- I will not notify you if you win!  Good luck!!

A Week of Giveaways- Day 3!

Alrighty, welcome to Day 3!!!  Today's giveaway is pretty awesome IMO and it all centers around my all time favorite manufacturer, Crate Paper!  First up is a layout using Crate Paper's Pretty Party Collection about my friend's wedding dress. I sewed some butterfly garlands and added those to the top of the layout along with some Chipboard garland accents.

So seeing as I love Crate Paper so much and I need to clear out some space for the new CHA Crate Paper releases I decided to put together a Crate Paper prize pack for today's giveaway.  Not everything is unused but there is still plenty to choose from!

A bunch of letter sticker packs (8 total from Emma's Shoppe, Neighborhood, Random, and the Farmhouse Collections) and chipboard from the Random and Farmhouse Collections.

Label and border stickers, trims, 3D stickers, and chipboard from a variety of collections

And patterned paper from the Random and Farmhouse collections

In order to be eligible for the giveway you need to leave me a comment under this post and be a follower of my blog.  You will have until August 5th to enter each giveaway and the winners will all be drawn on Monday, August 6th !  The winners will be randomly chosen and there is no limit on how many prize packages you can win but please only enter each giveaway once ;).  In order to win you must email me once you have won, so make sure you check back-- I will not notify you if you win!  Good luck!!
