Sometimes I hate Connecticut

It's true.  Sometimes I hate the stupid high cost of living in this darn state, and constantly being broke (Hmmm should I buy gas or groceries tomorrow?).  However, some days I decide that living in  New England rules pretty hard, especially when it's the fall.  There are so many fun activities right around the corner from my house, I've been having such a nice time bringing my Charlie to all of them.  So far, here is what we've accomplished on my Fall Bucket List

Lymans Orchard
Buttonwood Farms
Corn Maze
Petting Zoo
Chester Fair
Picking out Pumpkins
Halloween
Jump in Leaf Pile
Carving Pumpkins
Apple cider and Cider Donuts
Clyde’s Cider Mill
Trick or Treat
Fall Cookies
Pick Apples
Hayride
Leaf Art
Fall Drinks
Pumpkin Cupcakes
Family Portrait

For the record....the recipe for the Brown Butter Pumpkin cupcakes (with cinnamon cream cheese frosting) was one I found on Pinterest and higgggghly reccomend.  YUM!  GO HERE to make 'em

Today Charlie, my friend Kim, and myself went to a farm with a petting zoo, hay rides, pumpkin patches, and lots of big tractors.....oh and freakin apple fritters.  Holy christ those apple fritters.  DEEEElicious.  Was a really fun Fall Day.  I still think CT is too damn expensive but at least we have fun stuff like that!

Here are some pictures from a trip to Lyman's Orchards that we took a couple weeks ago :) What are you guys doing to celebrate fall?

Little Black Dress October Kit Projects

Hi everyone! I'm stopping by to share my LBD October Kit projects!  I love the pinks, greens and blue in this kit, really fun and bright colors to work with!

I love how just adding some orange cardstock gave this kit an entirely different Halloween feel!

And a little belated nod to National Card Making Day!

American Crafts Guest Designer!

Hi everyone!!! Well a few weeks ago I got an email from Paige Evans (the American Crafts Blog Hostess) asking me to be a Guest Designer-- super exciting!  Even better? I got to work with the *amazing* Dear Lizzy Fifth and Frolic Collection....does it get any sweeter?  Today the post goes live and you can see it HERE

This collection is gooooorgeous, the accessories are perfection, and it is so versatile-- I was shocked by all the different color combinations I was able to pull out of the papers; it works great for masculine and feminine projects.

Here are three layouts i made using the collection--

Here's a simple card:

And since I love to make wreaths I decided to make a wreath as my project!  I knew I wanted to do an ombre wreath but I thought it would be cool to add in color/shape gradations as well.  So the wreath transitions from white --> dark pink --> white but then the little flowers also slowly transition to large butterflies going clockwise.

I was able to get all of these projects completed in 72 hours thanks to the help of my  husband Robb (thanks mister!) who watched Charlie and stayed up late last night taking photographs for me.  Also a big thanks to my carpool buddy Kim who helped me punch butterflies on the drive to and from work yesterday when I was short on time :D

I hope you like my projects, I loved working with this collection!
