Noel Mignon Challenge Layouts

Hi everyone!!  Sorry it's been a while, things have gotten very busy around here.  Starting as of February 28th I will no longer be unemployed :) I was offered a new job as a QC Scientist so I've been very busy preparing for that.  I'm so spoiled having spent the last 6 months home with my little one, I'll miss him so much!

So I do have lots of new layouts for you :)  Here is one I made to complement the previous "On the Farm" layout I posted.  I used the "Very Virginia" kit for this layout (have I mentioned how much i LOVE Noel Mignon kits? because I do. they rock.

Anyways this past week was the Valentine's Day crop over at and I had lots of fun participating in as many challenges as I could.  I had high hopes of doing all of them but it wasn't to be!  I did have a lot of fun and got lots of great inspiration tho.  Here's the ones I did :) I used the "Truly Scrumptious" kit for all except the first sketch challenge- that one I used only my scraps *pats back*

Sketch Challenge: I totally LOVE this sketch, it's so simple and really keeps the focus on the picture

Sketch Inspirations Sketch Challenge: I totally love this sketch, too!  And Noel's kit "Truly Scrumptious" is just right for these pictures we took in the woods this past fall.  I love that there are sorta funky items in the kits, for example this kit had yellow tuille.  Initially I figured I wouldn't use it but then I saw it lying there and it finished my layout off perfectly!

Color Combo Challenge: Now I can't say I love the color peach because I don't but i do love how this layout turned out.  I especially love these photo's, my hubby and baby are making the same expression in each one haha!

Recipe Challenge: This was by FAR the hardest challenge!  However ironically enough I did actually win this one :)  You could use TWO and ONLY two of each item on your layout.

For example, for this layout: Two hearts, pearls, alphas, brads, patterned paper, ribbon, buttons, cardstock, staples, pens (white gel pen and sharpie for the hearts), flowers, bling (blue rhinestone and the big flourish), fussy cuts (flowers at the top and one on the bottom), photos, punches

Get it?  Try it some time, it's really difficult (I had no idea I used so much paper usually! haha) but I do really like the result

Alrighty, hope you enjoy my new projects!  In other news I just traded in some old textbooks on amazon and used the trade in amount to purchase a sewing machine!  Fun newbie sewing machine adventures to come hehe :)

Does anyone here know how to use a sewing machine?  what's a bobbin?  I have no clue what to do with the thing once it gets here haha

Cricut Chirp and a new LO

Hi everyone!  I just wanted to let you know that my layout "C for Charlie" was featured in the Cricut Chirp- woo hoo!  Check it out here:

And here's my most recent LO I just finished.  It's a little crooked in the photo, not sure how everyone else seems to get perfectly straight and wonderfully cropped layout photos....I have yet to figure that one out....

ANYWAYS- it's not of Charlie!  GASP!

(told you I'd do one that wasn't him.... :P)

Page and Card Gallery

Hey everybody!  I just wanted to let you know that I have organized my favorite cards, mini albums, and layouts into galleries on and Two Peas in a Bucket.  I'm posting the links on the right hand side of my blog for easy access in case anyone ever wants to peruse my work :)  You can also check them out using the links below: (Make sure you choose the appropriate tabs at the top for layouts, cards, or mini album) (Just scrapbook pages and mini albums on this site as of now...)

Also I wanted to share a new project.  I've been making those Tim Holtz grungepaper rose's like crazy (a little behind the times haha.....), theyre so cool and way cheaper than primas :)

Maybe one of these days I'll get back to doing layouts that don't revolve around my son......
